Karen LaFleur
Karen LaFleur is a digital artist, writer and animator. She explores the synergy between interior and exterior worlds with a focus on adaptability. Her intricate artworks are based on narratives written by the artist. With a counter-play between surface beauty and hidden depths they capture the complexity of world structures and reveal the resiliency of “individual voice” to survive within these shifting landscapes.
She began her artistic career as a fine artist, storyteller and observer of human nature. Later she turned to the computer to channel these common interests into an all-inclusive medium.
Her artworks exhibit nationally including the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian Institute, Washington, DC, The Fuller Craft Museum, MA, The Cape Museum of Fine Arts, MA, Union Square San Francisco, CA, and can be found in private and public collections worldwide.
